Bay Area Biomechanics
Bay Area Biomechanics, and its founder Matthew O’Neill (M.S. in Kinesiology, C.S.C.S), combine the science of biomechanics with the principles of strength and conditioning to provide the Bay Area’s premier training experience. Using meticulous movement mechanics analyses and muscular strength assessments, we create individualized training programs that help our clients achieve goals ranging from enhanced athletic performance, to recovery from musculoskeletal injury, and improved functional fitness. The chance of success in any of the aforementioned training goals is maximized by using a comprehensive approach that includes identifying and reinforcing proper movement mechanics, promoting optimal muscular function, and building strength in the appropriate muscle groups. Based in Pleasanton, CA, Bay Area Biomechanics serves the elite, recreational, and youth athletes of the greater Bay Area.
Matthew O'Neill
Matthew O’Neill is a performance and injury biomechanics consultant operating out of Speed Power Strength in Oakland, as well as his own private practice in Pleasanton. Matthew holds a master’s degree in movement science, which encompasses biomechanics, motor learning, and motor control, and is a published author in the field of biomechanics. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with over a decade of experience working with athletes of all levels, from youth and recreational sports to the highest levels of professional athletics. Additionally Matthew has a background in sports medicine, working for three years with the intercollegiate athletic department medical staff at UC Berkeley. By Combining his knowledge of the current methodologies of strength training and practices of sports medicine, and filtering them through the principles of biomechanics, Matthew provides a unique approach to performance training and injury resilience.
